2019 NCAA COACHING REQUIREMENTS:
The NCAA recently announced that once again in order to participate in coaching activities or sit on the team bench at an NCAA-certified event in 2019, coaches are required to obtain a USA Basketball (USAB) GOLD License. This applies to all teams at our certified events.
Teams without the USAB Gold Licensed coaches will not be allowed to create rosters on the BBCS, and will not be able to participate in the NCAA-certified portion of our events. Allow 3-4 weeks for processing. DO NOT WAIT TO APPLY!
For detailed application instructions from USA Basketball (use the link at the bottom of the USA Basketball instruction page to start your application or go directly to the application here).
The 2019 NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS) is now ready for use. Got to: http://BBCS.ncaa.org to access the system. This is the system you will need to access in order to register your team with the NCAA. You must have your team registered BEFORE you will be allowed to participate in any of our NCAA certified events.
To use the 2019 system you MUST have your USAB Gold License. If you do not have your Gold License please follow the directions listed above.
To register your team you must read the directions in the ECAG Manual. The process is new and more complicated than it has been in the past. Pages 27-75 specifically explain how coaches and athletes create a user account in the new BBCS.
Go to www.ncaa.org/basketballcertification for the ECAG manual.
2019 NCAA ATHLETE REQUIREMENTS:
ALL athletes must be registered in the BBCS BEFORE they can participate in this event. Athlete registration directions can be found on page 37 of the ECAG user manual. To access the ECAG user manual, go to www.ncaa.org/basketballcertification. (Returning athlete users should RENEW their previous account and NOT create a new one.)
*** Starting in 2019, through The Eligibility Center (www.eligibilitycenter.org) all athletes must have an EC ID number to either register as a new user in the BBCS or to renew their account from previous years.
